Phase 1

In its first phase POSHAN collaborated with the following partners for various national and state-level engagements:

The Institute of Development Studies (IDS) is a global research and learning organisation for equitable and sustainable change. The Knowledge Services Group at IDS led POSHAN activities to strengthen virtual and physical networks for nutrition at the national level and the state level.

The Nutrition Coalition is a non-profit advocacy organization working to strengthen national nutrition policy so that it is founded upon a comprehensive body of conclusive science and, where that science is absent, to encourage additional research.

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is a public private initiative that has collaboratively evolved through consultations with multiple constituencies including Indian and international academia, state and central governments, multi & bi-lateral agencies and civil society groups. The Health Communications unit of PHFI supported the development of POSHAN’s strategy and is supporting knowledge mobilization at the national and state-level.

Public Health Resource Network (PHRN) is a growing network of individuals and organizations with the perspective of strengthening technical and management capacities to take action towards the common goal of ‘Health for All’.

Save the Children is a global non-profit organisation and a leading independent child rights NGO in India. Its pioneering programmes address children’s unique needs, giving them a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm.

Vatsalya works closely with civil society organizations that are actively engaged in community health and development. It provides technical support on issues related to the health of mother and child.

Vikas Samvad is a research, documentation and capacity building organisation for building a team of socially sensitive cadre, communicators and organised groups with a child centric perspective.

 

Phase 2

In its second phase, POSHAN collaborates with several partners on several aspects of its work, ranging from research to capacity building (listed below). Accountability Initiative (AI) is a research group which works on strengthening transparency and accountability in governance through evidence-based research on state capabilities and factors affecting efficient public services delivery in India.

Alive & Thrive (A&T) is an initiative to save lives, prevent illness, and ensure healthy growth and development through optimal maternal nutrition, breastfeeding, and complementary feeding practices.

Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives (APPI) is a young philanthropic organisation, passionate about making a tangible difference in the lives of people who are deeply disadvantaged, impoverished, underserved and marginalised.

Duke University is a private research university located in Durham, North Carolina, United States.

Emory University, a top-ranked private institution recognized internationally for its outstanding liberal arts colleges, graduate and professional schools, and one of the world's leading healthcare systems, is located in Atlanta, United States.

Evidence for Policy Design (EPoD) is a team led by Harvard research faculty that brings data and economic insights to the design and implementation of public policies in countries around the world.

IDinsight is engaged in driving decisions and action with data and evidence.

IFMR LEAD is an India-based non-profit research organization that conducts scalable action research and outreach in development economics and finance.

International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) is an international grant-making NGO promoting evidence-informed development policies and programmes.

The Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration is a research and training institute on public policy and public administration in India.

To enable accelerated anemia control in India, under the aegis of Anemia Mukt Bharat – National Health Mission, National Centre of Excellence and Advanced Research in Anemia Control (NCEAR-A) is established at Centre for Community Medicine, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.

The National Centre of Excellence and Advanced Research on Diets (NCEARD) established in 2018 within the Department of Food and Nutrition at Lady Irwin College, New Delhi with start up support from UNICEF is a technical assistance resource centre to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India on research and policy formulation for women’s nutrition.

Network for Engineering and Economics Research and Management (NEERMAN) is a niche and specialized organization that conducts impact evaluations and develops and implements monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems in public health, environment and energy sectors.

The National Institution for Transforming India, also called NITI Aayog, is the premier policy ‘Think Tank’ of the Government of India, providing both directional and policy inputs. While designing strategic and long-term policies and programmes for the Government of India, NITI Aayog also provides relevant technical advice to the Centre and States.

Tata Trusts are amongst India's oldest, non-sectarian philanthropic organisations. Through grant-making, direct implementation and co-partnership strategies, the Trusts support and drive innovation in the areas of healthcare and nutrition, water and sanitation, energy, education, rural livelihoods, natural resource management, urban poverty alleviation, enhancing civil society and governance, media, arts, crafts and culture, and diversified employment.
