TRIPURA
Tripura, situated in the north-east of India, accounts for 0.3 percent of the country’s area and includes 8 districts. The state is home to more than 3 million people (0.3 percent of the population of India) of which 87.8 percent are literate. Tripura has a sex ratio of 960 females per 1,000 males. (Census of India 2011). The state largely depends on agriculture, which accounts for 64 percent of the total employment in the state (Government of Tripura 2017).
