Mizoram is situated in the hills of north east, flanked by Bangladesh on the west and Myanmar on the east and south. The state is spread across an area of 21,087 square kilometer and is divided into eight districts and 26 blocks. As of 2011, Mizoram had a population of over one million (1,091,014) and a sex ratio of 975 females per 1,000 males (Mizoram State Portal 2017).
