Manipur is located in the north eastern part of India and shares its border with Myanmar. The state has an area of 22,327 square kilometers and a population of 2.72 million people (Census of India 2011). Manipur is currently divided into 16 administrative districts. The literacy rate of the state is 76.94 percent, and sex ratio is 985 females for 1,000 males (Government of Manipur 2017).
